Makino Sushi & Seafood: Exquisite Dining Experience in Las Vegas

I had lunch here today, March 27, 2025. It was delicious and perfect. Customer service was definitely amazing and excellent. The place was full and very quiet. Music was not too loud. You can really enjoy your food without interruption. I will go back soon. Thank you so much

This is my 3rd year at makinos and I still love it! I've started to come in more on Monday's and Tuesday's as I always have a pleasant conversation with the cashier jean! He is always very welcoming as a host and introduce me to who will be my server, and i'm always happy with the service from the girls!

Fresh and tasty sushi. Servers were friendly and prompt. This was AYCE which isn't really a good deal for my wife , but my son made up for her lack of appetite. I wish you could have the option of not eating crab legs, which must increase the cost . Overall a pretty good restaurant

Actually was very good what I like of Makino they uses top Quality Food,tuna was Toro not average,the sukiyaki was excellent,service all ways fast,very nice and clean restaurant,definitely we going back

I've eaten at the original Makino since 2011 and it still does offer most of the original dimensions of sushi and other Japanese dishes that started the sushi buffet generation. They opened at 11:30 AM and there already was a line of folks waiting by the door. This is not necessarily unusual because the reputation seems to travel far and wide across nearby California about the quality of sushi that Makino and others had to offer. As you enter, a couple of ladies welcome you to be seated, the. You are surrounded by a tray of food that's snakes from the south to the north and east to west. Japanese cuisine is certainly popular to most Asians and certainly, I'd say 80 percent of their customers come from all shades of fellow Asians. Here, you see about 8-10 trays of various rolls, 8-10 trays of curated sushi which is showcased by their Tuna Fat Belly which to me is the best sushi at Makino. It's not only prized by many sushi lovers but the price is certainly about $5-10 dollars a piece if you're dining at one of the Omakase Japanese restaurants. If you eat 8 of these, you're certainly have your lunch fees paid for. They also have yellowtail, salmon, salmon skin, octopus, shrimp and others nicely displayed and prepared by certified chefs. The next row are condiments like fresh ginger, soy sauce, lemon, Tabasco etc...followed by their fried section highlighted by the shrimp tempura and yams. One observation here is that they're missing the light sauce that is typically a part of the Japanese package. In Japanese dinners, they usually have the dipping sauce for tempura. Also, Makino today no longer have the common Japanese pickles like nicely cut cucumbers and others veggies but is replaced by regularly cut pickles? Hmmm. Next was the soup section where you can have your soba etc...this was nicely and authentically presented here, thank you. They also have for fried noodles called Yakisoba but too oily, more like Chinese NOT Japanese thou. The. The snack section begins to unfold with the Takoyaki and Yakitori which are Japanese balls filled with octopus or skewered meats and shrimp etc.. The end of the table is the common desserts found in Chinese restaurants like flan, cut fruits like oranges, papaya etc. My observation is that Makino is no longer the original Japanese go to restaurant but a fusion of Japanese and Chinese culinary diversity which is common in the U.S. But if you wanted to immerse yourself with a fairly reasonable and fairly priced sushi buffet, try Makino...it's still my go to place for sushi and beyond! Itadakimas! Let's eat!

Don't come right before they open unless you're one of the first in line. The line to be seated is long. I would come 30 mins or an hour after they open because everyone is seated by then. The food is really good and gets restocked quickly. The service is great. I LOVE their green tea ice cream. The chocolate fondue is also delicious. Their crab was better than the one I've tried at Bellagio's buffet. The only downside is having to wait in line to get food.

Pricey buffet but they do feature a lot of seafood here! The sushi section here is one of the better ones. They offer an assortment of seafood, including raw oysters, scallops, and delicious crabs legs. Additionally, you can request the chefs behind the sushi counter to make you hand rolls that come out super fresh and stuffed. The hot bar was disappointing, as the food had been sitting out there for a while and tasted dry. On the other hand, the ramen section offers large portions that will definitely make you full. While they weren't bad, I would recommend skipping them because the soup's flavor primarily comes from the oil. There was a wide variety of options in the dessert section. Out of everything, my favorites include the creme brulee, chocolate foundation, and ice cream.
